Desert bound:
Camp shirts, classic trenches, shirt dresses, slim – fitting cargo pants and structured jackets are the core of this trend. Colours are neutral – beige, taupe, military greens and khakis provide the perfect background for accessories that speak volumes. Add glamour with copper, gold and bronze accents, animal prints, or a little tropical splendor with bright-colored jewellery and accessories. Be bold and adventurous. In their spring shows designers paired utilitarian pieces with accents like luxurious silk scarves, piled on jewellery, and even ruffles and bows.
Jungle beats:
This theme is created with khaki neutrals, tunic tops, bright splashes of colour, animal and black prints, safari suits or styling (such as pockets) , wooden or bead accessories. This look is great for sport or neutral types, especially those with autumn colouring. Animal prints are without a doubt one of the hottest patterns of the season. These gorgeous details reflect exotic leopard, cheetah, tiger and zebra motives. Pulling off a stylish animal print outfit will talk about the good taste and elegance of it’s wearer. While these patterns are bold and highly expressive, you should beware of overusing patterns.
City Scape:
Although this trend has three aspects to it i.e: City life and City Brights, it seems we just can’t get enough of the marinel Hence “City Harbour”. The nautical style trend in 2010 echoes the French Riviera chic fused with a tint of young and restless non-conformism. One of the great proofs of the ageless character of nautical style is that fact that it is constantly re-discovered and elaborated by great designers. City life is vibey, sparkly and very much aimed at the city night life. This is lead by an urban chic which is classy and sassy at the same time.
Mens wear
Desert Bound:
This trend is natural and easy going. The colours are pale blues, soft greens and different shades of sand. Cream suits, stone cargo shorts and light blue chambray shirts are key. The prints are muted and washed out and the denim is distressed. The summer scarf, straw fedora and natural neckwear and wrist cuffs are ideal accessories here.
Jungle Beats:
Wild and free! This trend allows more experimentation with colour and texture. Mix printed T-shirts with check shirts; an important print is that of an animal. Brightly printed board shorts or distressed roll-up denim shorts are hot. The two colour or patterned flip-flops, bright caps and fedoras, colourful belts, wrist wear and sunglasses are great accessories to add to this trend.
City Scape:
This look is slim down across the board. The fabrication is light weights and linen. In junior there are neon brights, slim fit jeans, colourful hi-top sneakers or plimsoles bold check shirts and big prints. In contemporary the ties are colour blocked and in high shine. The colours are neutral into black and the new smart has no tie at all. A great reference to this look is “The Black Diamond”.
